In 2018 companies will be able to hire slightly more well-qualified workers from third countries and service providers from the EU / EFTA area than in 2017.

In the coming year, a total of 8’000 specialists from third countries can be recruited. This are 500 more than in 2017. For these, 3500 residence permits (B, +500) and 4500 short-term residence permits (L) are available.

There are also new 2018 figures for service providers from EU / EFTA states with a duration of more than 90 or 120 days per year. There will be 3’000 short-term residence permits (L) and 500 residence permits (B). This are 1’250 more than in 2017.
