How to get a visa at the Swiss embassy?

In countries where the Swiss embassy or consulate are not around the block we are often asked if there has to be a personal visit to get a Swiss visa. If finger prints haven’t been recorded in the last 59 months for a previous Schengen visa, the person will have to submit his visa application in person.
